This is a mechanical part — no programming or coding required. Installation requires removal of the passenger-side dashboard HVAC housing trim to access the blower unit.
Fitment note: Fits Type 996 and 997 911 (2000-2012), Type 986 Boxster (2000-2004), and Type 987 Boxster and Cayman (2005-2012). For 2012 model year, verify chassis — this part fits Type 997 911 and Type 987 Boxster/Cayman only; it does NOT fit the Type 991 911 or Type 981 Boxster/Cayman introduced for 2012. Earlier 1997-1999 applications may require Porsche plug adapter 00004330099 — verify by VIN before ordering.
